We started looking at homes online before arriving in the states. We asked several agents questions over email about the properties we were interested in; Doug was the only one to reply with information above and beyond expectations. Doug was professional at all times, gave great advice and there was never any pressure applied. Again, above and beyond what was required, Doug gave us tips on where to shop for furniture and groceries, great restaurants, builders (for work we needed in the future) and sightseeing spots. 1. He listens. He sincerely tries to understand your desires and your constraints to put you in contact with the right homes. This saves a lot of time in looking. We have several unique requirements as a family and with Doug we found all three of our homes in less than 2 weeks; twice we found them in one day.
   
2. He responds quickly. This is important when youâre looking, to ensure youâre not missing opportunities when the market is moving quickly. Doug usually will get back to me within 20 minutes or less. On one home, we were the first to see it the day it listed and were able to purchase in an outstanding neighborhood where homes do not stay on the market for long (and for a very good price).
   
3. He keeps the lines of co mmunication open. This is important as you move through the closing process, to keep things progressing smoothly and avoid any unnecessary delays. Doug works well with other realtors, the inspectors, town officials, the lawyers and the lenders â maintaining constant communication with them to move the process along for you. Very often we had to communicate and conduct portions of the transaction from half-way across the country â but whether by phone, fax or email - he gets back to you promptly on any issues and works with you, and for you, to get them resolved quickly.
   
4. He brings quality individuals into the process. Doug has helped us find a home inspector, a lawyer for purchase & sale, and 2 different lenders. When he recommends someone, he expects them to have the same commitment to service that he has. They have all provided outstanding service and at very reasonable rates. All of them have helped the closing process go smoothly. In fact we have used the same home inspector and lawyer on every home weâve purchased in Massachusetts.
   
5. He works equally well as a buyerâs broker or a listing broker. Whichever side of the transaction weâve been on, weâve always contracted Doug to represent us. When buying he will pursue issues and ask questions about the property that we would not have thought to ask â which is important considering our home is the single largest investment we have. Weâve learned a lot about purchasing a home just from what Doug has taught us.
